Talent officials from participating companies gathered in Annapolis, MD, last week for the Jobipedia Annual Summit to chart the initiative's future course at a time when it is experiencing exponential growth in visits to its website, with nearly two million expected in 2016.  The meeting was kicked off by Jobipedia Steering Committee Chair Cheryl Johnson, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, at Textron Inc.  In addition to reviewing initiatives that have proven to increase awareness about the website among college students, new directives were discussed to facilitate continued growth.  One of the new initiatives will further develop the Jobipedia Resume Generator by adding tools to assist individuals in the writing process, as well as allowing Jobipedia contributors to access the library of over 300 early career resumes.  Also, there was strong interest in developing a monthly hiring expert AMA—or "Ask Me Anything"—online interview session.  This monthly series would be a great opportunity for a contributing company to discuss its internship and early career opportunities with students, and create a more intimate environment between contributing hiring experts and students.  Also to be developed is a webinar series specifically for contributing hiring experts.  This webinar series would involve a contributing hiring expert to lead a presentation on a topic or issue where she or he has experienced success.  Some topic ideas included how to increase the percentage of interns to full-time employees, how to handle an overwhelming workload and submitted resumes, and how companies are effectively developing their interns.
