HR Policy Association sent a letter to President Trump outlining key workplace policy priorities for his second term. Our goal is to collaborate with the administration on policies that support economic growth, workforce development, and employer competitiveness.
HRPA’s workplace policy priorities:
Regulatory overreach: Advocating for rollbacks on excessive regulations, including joint employer liability, independent contractor classifications, and workplace election rules.
Non-compete agreements: Supporting balanced reforms that protect intellectual property and proprietary business interests and permit responsible use for executives and key employees.
AI in the workplace: Promoting employer-led AI innovation while ensuring a pro-business approach.
Paid family and medical leave: Encouraging a federal paid leave policy that aligns with and complements existing employer-provided benefits and provides national compliance uniformity.
Employment-based immigration: Calling for DACA and STEM H-1B talent solutions to address workforce shortages and ensure continued U.S. competitiveness.
Health care & prescription drug costs: Advocating for greater transparency in healthcare pricing and protecting employer-sponsored health coverage, including ERISA preemption.
Data privacy: Urging policymakers to distinguish between employment-related data and consumer privacy regulations to ensure workplace efficiency and compliance.
Labor law reform: Promoting a modernized, cooperative labor relations approach over outdated, adversarial models.
Proxy advisory firm reform: Seeking increased accountability and transparency for proxy advisory firms in corporate governance and executive compensation decisions.
