HR Policy Association Statement on Nomination of Congresswoman Chavez-DeRemer as Labor Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, in response to President-Elect Donald J. Trump’s announcement that he will nominate Congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer to be Secretary of Labor, Tim Bartl, President and CEO of HR Policy Association, which represents chief human resource officers of nearly 400 of the largest employers in the United States, offers this statement:

“We note the President’s Secretary of Labor nominee with great interest. We have worked with Secretaries of Labor from different backgrounds and perspectives throughout our history. It is most important that the Secretary of Labor and her or his team hears and understands our members’ perspectives. We look forward to learning more about Congresswoman Chavez-DeRemer as she moves through the nomination process, as well as the other relevant Labor Department and Executive Branch nominees and appointments important to our members.”

The Association consists of nearly 400 of the largest corporations doing business in the United States and globally, and these employers are represented in the organization by their most senior human resource executive.
