Karen Franklin

As the Vice President and Growth Leader of National Accounts for existing business, Karen has overall responsibility for leading the team of Cigna professionals that manage Cigna’s largest client relationships, those employers with more than 3,000 employees. Her team is responsible for developing long term healthcare strategies to retain and grow their book of business. This responsibility spans across all of Cigna’s lines of business including medical, supplemental medical, dental, pharmacy, EAP and behavioral health.
Karen has over 30 years of experience developing long term health care strategies to meet the benefit and business needs of her clients. Karen brings extensive experience to her leadership role. She has managed clients in both of Cigna’s Regional and National Account segments. She was a National Account Executive at Aetna and has held several management positions throughout her career. As a trusted advisor to her clients, Karen was a lead consultant at Mercer acting as the lead healthcare strategist while developing sound business plans to meet the complex needs of her clients and building strong relationships at all levels of the client’s organization. She was the Mercer Health Advantage South Market Sales Leader, Client Solution Leader for the East Market and an active member of Mercer’s East Market Leadership Team.
As the healthcare industry continues to evolve with new constituents entering the marketplace every day, Karen understands the importance of innovation and technology and the impact these solutions can have on clients. Not only has she evaluated many of these vendors at Mercer, but Karen came to us most recently from Accolade, an advocacy, navigation, care management organization where she held the position of Director of Business Development and managed the Business Development team.
