Seth Waugh Director of Workforce Policy under Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC), House Committee on Education and the Workforce


Seth Waugh serves as the Director of Workforce Policy under Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) at the Committee on Education and the Workforce. In this position, Waugh is responsible for directing and managing the activities of the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections and the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), including policy development, oversight, and legislative efforts related to the Department of Labor, the Department of Health & Human Services, the National Labor Relations Board, and all sub-agencies within those executive branch agencies.  Before joining the Committee, Waugh served as the Vice President-Government Relations and Political Director for the National Association of Wholesaler Distributors. He played a crucial role in managing the labor and transportation portfolios of the association as well as several business coalitions throughout the legislative arena.  He served on the management committee and led the lobbying committee for the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW), a coalition of several hundred companies and associations joined by their mutual concern over legislative and regulatory overreach on labor issues. As the Political Director of NAW PAC, Waugh was a leader of the political leadership team that has made a name for themselves in Washington through their ability to pick future leaders of the Republican Party, such as Senator Marco Rubio, Senator John Thune, and others.  Additionally, Waugh has served on the steering committees of multiple U.S. Senators and candidates.

Additionally, Seth served on the government relations team of multiple trade associations and managed the National Rifle Association's grassroots operations across 14 states. He also spent nearly five years on the late U.S. Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) staff and has worked for the Ohio House of Representatives and on political campaigns throughout the country.
