HR Policy Association's Government Relations Professionals Resource Program is dedicated
to providing support to government relations professionals tasked with addressing
labor and employment policy issues for their companies. The Association focuses
exclusively on these issues, and our purpose is to pass along our research, analysis
and information from our lobbying and communications activities to these professionals.

Government relations professionals receive alerts via emails from the Association policy
staff as breaking information becomes available. In many instances, these alerts
will be posted simultaneously on the Relations Executives
Portal. Alerts include information about House and Senate votes, breaking
developments, and calls to action to weigh in on specific issues.
This provides the most up to date information about legislation and regulatory issues.
All Washington representatives receive an email when new information has been posted
to this portal. Examples of information here include updates on legislative activity,
bill introductions, House and Senate votes, and announcements about upcoming briefings.
The Association delivers a newsletter weekly via email to all members (including
Washington representatives) of the most important HR legislative and regulatory
developments that have occurred each week. Stories contains links to legislation,
policy briefs, and articles on each topic. In addition, This Week includes articles
from the newsletters of HR Policy Association’s European partner – the Brussels
European Employee Relations Group (BEERG) – a network of employee relations executives
from transnational corporations with responsibility for the management of European
employee relations issues.
Periodically, the Association’s policy staff holds briefings in its office on a
variety of issues. These briefings are designed to familiarize government relations
executives with issues that are likely to arise before they become urgent matters
as well as provide updates on legislation moving in Congress.
HR Policy publishes numerous Policy Briefs on legislation and regulatory issues
facing our members. Generally two to three pages in length, these briefs provide
an executive overview of issues.
For complex issues that have a significant impact on our member companies, the Association's
detailed memoranda and analyses offer the analysis of these issues by both staff
and the membership.
The Association has organized web portals that provide a concentration of information
on specific issue areas such as the Employee Free Choice Act and health care reform.
Here you can find the most recent This Week in HR Policy news stories, letters to
Congress, policy briefs, analyses, and in some cases, relevant external analyses
and opinion pieces on these issues.
