Shelly Carlin Announced as CEO of the American Health Policy Institute

February 09, 2018

Shelly Carlin, Executive Vice President of the Association and the Center On Executive Compensation, has been named the new CEO of the American Health Policy Institute as a rare (and likely brief) cease-fire in the health care policy debate provides an opportunity to review and reconfirm the ways in which the Institute's valuable work can be furthered.  Association CEO Dan Yager said, "Shelly has played a strong role behind the scenes in our health care agenda, both from the practice side and the policy side.  Clearly, her experience will add a new dimension to how AHPI’s research and education agenda can serve our members’ practice needs, as has been the case with the Center, where she has been one of the major architects, incorporating her contemporary and practical CHRO perspective."  Dr. Tevi Troy has taken the top government relations position at JUUL Labs, Inc., a promising start-up with significant public health ramifications.  Under his leadership, AHPI has been established as a recognized leader in health care policy backed by its extensive research capability.  The AHPI team looks forward to continuing its legacy of providing value to its members under Shelly's leadership and that of AHPI Chair Marc Reed, Chief Administrative Officer at Verizon Communications Inc., who also chairs the Association's Health Care Policy Committee.
