This week, House members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus' leadership PAC called on presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders to commit to issuing an executive order should they win the White House that would give a contracting preference to employers that provide their employees with "good wages, good benefits, and remain neutral during union organizing campaigns." While Sen. Sanders' campaign has said he backs such an executive order, Secretary Clinton indicated that she needs to study the proposal, and "will work closely with leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus—who have fought alongside President Obama to protect American workers—to move forward on ideas like these as President." The letter also calls on the next president to establish a "White House Office of Good Jobs" that would "ensure" that federal contracts go to "private sector corporations that treat their workers with dignity."
