President Names FMCS Nominee

President Obama has announced his intent to nominate Allison Beck as Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides mediation assistance in labor contract negotiations as well as employment arbitration services.  Ms. Beck began serving as Acting Director this year upon the departure of George Cohen.  She has served as deputy director for national and international programs at the Service since 2010.  Prior to that, she was with the International Association of Machinists for thirty years, serving as General Counsel for the final twenty.
