With an aging workforce and looming talent shortages, U.S. employers are facing a "brain drain" of older workers. At the same time, many workers are interested in gradually transitioning into full retirement by reducing their hours or responsibilities - a process often referred to as "phased retirement"


Retirement Security Policy

Retirement security policy in the United States is largely governed by the tax laws and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), which seek to encourage the voluntary adoption of defined benefit and defined contribution plans by employers.  The economic downturn is expected to generate numerous proposals to alter existing government policies regarding these plans.
