SEC/IRS Enforcement

Given the overlapping jurisdiction of these two agencies in several regulatory areas, such as clawbacks and perquisites, HR Policy Association believes that the agencies must ensure that they approach these areas of dual jurisdiction with a coordinated and consistent approach.  All too often, companies are required to navigate a maze of inconsistent multi-agency regulations which is not only a costly exercise, but also administratively burdensome.  The Association and the Center On Executive Compensation continue to urge the SEC and IRS to collaborate on issues that cross agency jurisdiction in order to minimize the regulatory burdens associated with duplicative and potentially inconsistent guidance as well as conflicting enforcement agendas facing companies.
